Frequently asked questions.
Do I need an extra underlay?
No. Every COREPEL SPC plank already has a 1 mm IXPE underlay (20 dB improvement). Another layer would strain the click joint. On mineral subfloors only a PE vapour control layer goes underneath.
Can I install COREPEL over tiles?
Yes, over firm, flat tiles. Fill wide or deep grout joints first so they do not show through.
Is COREPEL suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes, for hydronic and suitable electric systems. The surface temperature must not exceed 27 °C. See the technical note on underfloor heating.
How large can a room be without profiles?
Up to 15 × 15 m without transition profiles, even through doorways. A 5 mm expansion gap all round is still required.
Can I install it in bathrooms and kitchens?
Yes. COREPEL SPC is waterproof right through the core. Kitchen units and built-ins must not be fixed on top of the floor.
How do I cut a plank?
Score the top with a utility knife and snap it, or cut with a fine-tooth saw. Cut edges disappear under the skirting board.
Can I install it myself?
With some skill, yes – the click system is DIY-friendly. For herringbone and glue-down PRO LINE Dryback we recommend a professional installer. Your COREPEL dealer can recommend one.
